Renault, the French Automobile giant unveiled their plans for Indian market during 2010 Auto-Expo in Delhi. Year 2011 has seen Renault launching its premium sedan FLUENCE and the duster KOLEOS in line with their goal of launching full range of passenger cars in a four year time frame. The small car built in India at Renault-Nissan plant will be introduced in the first quarter of 2012.

With approval from Nissan in June 2010, Asian PPG was pitching aggressively to win approval from Renault as well. The journey to approval at Renault started earlier this year and in May, Renault’s After Market Team, headed by Mr. Bruno ROUX visited our Chennai Training Center as a part of their supplier assessment process. This gave us an opportunity to showcase our training capabilities. Renault on its part was always keen to align with a Refinish partner that would build knowledge and skill levels of its Technicians at Dealership level.

Subsequent interactions and discussions resulted in Renault approving Asian PPG in September this year. The approval by Renault in landmark in the sense; It’s the first Motor Manufacturer to mandate usage of AQUABASE-PLUS waterborne system from “one day” for body and paint work. Presently, the Renault network in India consists of 14 Dealerships. In a three year time frame Renault plans to expand its network to 70 with 0.1 million units in operation.

Asian PPG, one of the only two approved refinish paint suppliers is proud to be a partner in Renault’s journey in Indian passenger car industry!
